Returning to Service After Maternity Leave

After completing their maternity leave, female NYSC members are expected to return to service and complete the remaining months of their service year. However, they may be granted an extension of their service year if they were unable to complete all of their assignments due to their pregnancy or childbirth.

NYSC recognizes the importance of motherhood and provides maternity leave for female members who become pregnant during their service year. By being aware of their rights and entitlements, pregnant NYSC members can ensure that they have the support they need to navigate this important life stage.
