NYSC LGA clearance

NYSC monthly clearance is a process that allows you to get clearance from the Local Government Area (LGA) and the Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) to ensure that you are properly registered and it is a prerequisite to getting an allowance from the Federal Government.

The NYSC LGA clearance is done at the Local Government Secretariat, where you will be cleared by the Local Inspector (LI).

The purpose of the monthly clearance is to make sure you are still active and that you have not absconded from the service.

How many days does NYSC clearance take?

The clearance duration is fixed within the first day of the month until the 10 day of that month, public holidays and weekends are not included. You can check your schedule for the month your NYSC dashboard.

There may be disruption of clearance schedule when the LI goes to the NYSC orientation camp for new batch.

How To Do NYSC Final Clearance?

Here are the steps to do your NYSC final clearance:

The first step in the NYSC monthly clearance process is to get clearance from your LGA. To do this, you will need to present your NYSC identification card, your passport photographs, and your original and photocopied credentials.

You will also need to fill out a form that is provided by the LGA, which will be used to verify your information and ensure that you are properly registered. Once your information has been verified, you will be issued with a clearance certificate.

• So, you present that final clearance paper at the point of collecting the certificate.

What Happens If You Miss NYSC Clearance?

In case you miss your clearance for the month, it will be shown as “Absent” on your NYSC dashboard, meaning that you have not done your duties for that month as a corper and you will not be eligible to receive your allowance for that month.

What To Do If You Miss Your NYSC Monthly Clearance?

The best option is to visit or call your LI, although you will need to come up with a very good excuse.

The LGI has the authority to clear all outstanding attendance you missed during CDS, General CDS, and your Clearance day in some cases, the LGI has the privilege to help a corps member request for unpaid NYSC monthly allowance.

How To Check NYSC LGA Monthly Clearance?

Here are the steps to check NYSC monthly clearance status online:

• Visit the NYSC portal dashboard via https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc4/
• Login to your dashboard with your email address and password
• Click on “​LGA Clearance​.”
• It would show you the list of months you take part in NYSC monthly clearance and your status, which can either be ‘Present’ or ‘Absent’.
• Your LGA monthly clearance status should reflect on your dashboard as soon as you have done your NYSC Biometric clearance. Although, it depends on the network in the area.
