Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment 2024

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is the air branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is one of the largest in Africa, consisting of about 15,000 personnel and aircraft including fighters, helicopters, and military transport aircraft.

The NAF invites applications from qualified Nigerians for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) into various specialties such as Engineering, Medical, Administration, Logistics, Education, Legal, and others. The DSSC is a short-term commission that enables graduates and professionals to serve in the NAF for a period of 10 years, renewable once for another 10 years.


The DSSC is open to both male and female applicants who meet the eligibility criteria. The application portal for the NAF DSSC Recruitment 2024/2025 will be open from March 1st to April 30th, 2024. Applicants are advised to apply early as the portal will be closed after the deadline.

  1. The Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment is classified into two types: DSSC and BMTC.
  2. BMTC is recognized as a brief training for recruits to become Airmen and Airwomen, lasting less than six months.
  3. On the other hand, the DSSC is for degree holders with specific skills, and if chosen, they will become flying officers.
  4. The third category of recruitment is Regular Combatant.

    • Outcome: Becomes Tradesmen & Tradeswomen, respectively.

Requirement/Qualification for Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment

  • Have a minimum of a second class lower degree or HND lower credit in any relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

  • Possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
  • Be medically and physically fit and free from any form of disability.
  • Not have any criminal conviction or pending case in court.
  • Be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
