Federal, State and Private universities that accept second choice candidates

Not all schools accept second choice candidates, so it’s important to keep that in mind. While JAMB has requested universities to accept second-choice candidates, not all of them are genuinely interested in doing so. This article aims to provide a helpful guide to selecting the best universities that will accept you if you choose them as your second choice.

Universities that Accepts Second Choice In JAMB

It is important to note that there are several federal, state, and private universities in Nigeria that accept candidates who choose them as their second choice for admission. However, it is worth mentioning that the number of universities that offer this option is relatively limited.

It is crucial to understand that the major federal government-owned universities in Nigeria do not accept second-choice admissions. This is mainly due to the competitive nature of these institutions. Universities such as UNN, UI, UNILAG, UNIBEN, FUTA, FUTO, UNICAL, and others do not consider second-choice candidates. It is important to keep in mind that not all public universities allow second-choice admissions.

On the other hand, most private universities in Nigeria do accept candidates who choose them as their second choice, as long as they can afford the tuition fees. However, it is important to note that meeting the admission requirements of the respective private university is still necessary to secure admission.
