How to Apply for NYSC Relocation/Redeployment for Get Fast Approval (2024)

Are you considering applying for redeployment or relocating from your current NYSC Orientation Camp and you don’t know how to go about it? You don’t have to worry yourself too much, in this article, we are going to explain how to apply and get your NYSC Relocation / Redeployment approved.

Although every corps members have the right to apply for a relocation or redeployment, but before doing that, NYSC expects you to have a genuine reason for considering relocating from your current state of deployment.

It is normal to want to change your State of Deployment or Primary Place of Assignment PPA when you see your NYSC Call-up letter because the state of deployment may not be favorable or as expected.

How to Apply for NYSC Relocation and Redeployment

Listed below are the acceptable grounds for NYSC relocation/redeployment:

1. Health/Medical Issues
2. Marital Grounds
3. Security

1. Health/Medical Issues:

You can apply for relocation on the basis of medical grounds, if you have any reoccurring illness that requires you to be closely monitored by your medical doctor. However, when filling the form, you will be required to provide a medical report from a recognized medical institution (preferably public medical centre).

2. Marital Grounds:

This normally applies to female corps members who are married and wishes to redeploy to the state of residence of their husband.

However, since you are applying for relocation or redeployment based on martial status, you are expected to attach the following credentials:

• Marriage certificate
• Husband ID Card
• A document showing change of name in any of the National Newspapers and
  Court Affidavit (Change of Name)
• Proof of domicile of husband or a letter from your husband’s workplace which can also serve as an evidence that your husband is resident of the state you want to relocate to. (Note that the letter should be addressed to the Director General of the NYSC through the State Coordinator).

3. Security:

While NYSC have the right to deploy you to any state to serve in Nigeria, there are some states that are affected by Boko Haram insurgents and other sort of insecurity. You can easily apply for redeployment stating the reason as security-related issue.

There are two ways you can apply for NYSC relocation or redeployment: application with the camp or online application on the NYSC website

1. Application within the camp

One of the ways you can apply for relocation/redeployment is during the 21-day orientation course in the Camp. Normally, interested corps members will be given the opportunity to apply for relocation.

While filling the form, they will be expected to state the reason for applying for redeployment and a copy of the following documents should be attached with the form.

Documents Required for Redeployment/Relocation in Camp

1. Application Letter (NYSC relocation letter)
2. State the reason for redeploying
3. Evidence for reason to redeploy (e.g Marriage Certificate or Medical Report)

2. How to Apply for NYSC Relocation/Redeployment Online

Step 1: Visit the NYSC official website https://www.nysc.gov.ng/

Step 2: Login in with your email and password you used while registering on the portal

Step 3: Scroll down and click on “relocation“

Step 4: Fill in your details appropriately into the fields provided

You will notified via email or text message whether your application is approved or rejected.

If your application is approved, you will have to print out the relocation letter.

How to Print NYSC Relocation/Redeployment Letter

1. Visit the Official NYSC Portal http://www.nysc.gov.ng
2. Sign in with your email and password.
3. Click on Relocation.
4. Make a payment of #1000 (one thousand Naira only).
5. Print your relocation letter (colour) which you will take with you along with your green card to the local government secretariat for clearance.
