How to Apply for Correction/Arrangement of Name on NYSC Portal
It’s important to note that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has a strict policy regarding name disparity.
If there is a difference between the name on your Statement of Result and the one on your Call-up Letter, you will not be registered in the orientation camp.
In such cases, it is necessary to apply for NYSC Name Correction (either an addition or removal) through your dashboard.
Having the wrong or misspelled name on your documents can cause significant problems, especially when it comes to your NYSC certificate.

How to Apply for NYSC Correction of Name
To apply for a Name Correction on the NYSC portal, follow these simple steps:
1. Visit the NYSC portal via http://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1
2. Log in to your dashboard using the email and password you registered with.
3. Click on the “Apply for Change of Name” link available on your dashboard.
Please note that you can only correct the following mistakes:
- Spelling errors
- Re-arrangement of names
- Addition of names
- Removal of names
For those who require the addition or removal of names, you will need to visit your institution’s Student Affairs Officer (SAO).
The SAO will process the request online and upload the necessary supporting documents for NYSC to take further action.
If you have already applied for a name re-arrangement or spelling error correction on your dashboard, please be patient as the process is ongoing.
However, additions or removals of names cannot be attended to on the NYSC portal unless your institution follows the designated procedures.
It’s important to understand the reasons why NYSC may disapprove a name correction request, which include:
- Complete change of names
- Introduction of a new name that is not recorded in any of your official documents
- Incorrect application for name correction
- Abbreviation of your name

Can I Go For NYSC After School of Nursing?

Please I have an issue like this,my name on my statement of results is showing EKPE VICTOR UCHECHUKWU but on my call up letter is showing EKPE VICTOR UCHE I tried changing on the nysc dashboard but it was disapproved.
What’s the best solution to this, mind you I graduated since 2021 would it still be possible for my school to solve this out or should I go to jamb to make the correction cause I also noticed I have Ekpe Victor Uche showing on my jamb also.

You can change it in the NYSC camp, go to the camp ICT department, they will help you to correct it and it will be approved immediately

My school asked me to go to exam and record to tell them to give me another LOC with well arranged name so they can process my mobilization form….like my name in school loc is showing agbalaya quwam olayinka while on my jamb matriculation list is showing agbalaya Olayinka quwam…(can it be changed in nysc portal for rearrangement even though they process my mobilization form like that in school?

My name is UMAR FATIMOH OWOLABI on my result but I did change of name to Mrs UMAR FATIMOH BOLAJI, so, the problem is that, after applying for rearrangement of name on NYSC portal my name is still arranged on NYSC portal as BOLAJI UMAR FATIMO. Please what should I do?

It will be go through approval process, once approved, it will be rearrange

My first name on my Jamb profile & Statement of results is spelt as CHUKWUEMEMKA instead of CHUKWUEMEKA (there was an extra M added by mistake during Jamb reg.)
How will it affect my NYSC registration? I don’t want the same misspelling on my Certificate of National Service

It doesn’t affect your online registration but it might affect your registration at the NYSC camp, so it is advisable you get it fixed on your result before going to camp

There is nothing else to do, the names you will be approved, it might take a while but it will be approved, if it is not, you can get it done in the orientation camp
